WHEELING, W.Va. -- "Bad Kitty" was more like that poor 'ittle pussy cat that Tweety Bird talks about.

Kitty "Bad Kitty" Pugh found out why South Point's Nikki "No Slack" Eplion is ranked No. 3 in the WIBA middleweight division after Friday night's fight.

Eplion stayed unbeaten at 11-0-2 (seven knockouts) when she pummeled Pugh in the first round. Pugh was unable to answer the bell in the second round and was holding her sides as the decision was announced.

The scheduled four-round bout ended prematurely as Eplion dazed Pugh early with a straight left, then followed with another left and a hook to the body that send Pugh (3-3) reeling.

The 6-foot Eplion entered the fight weighing in at 156 and three-quarter pounds. Pugh was ranked 11th in the light middleweight (154 pound) division.

"I said I really had to get on her early and I did," Eplion said. "I promised I'd give the best fight of the evening and I think I did."

Eplion is hoping for a fight in the near future with No. 1-ranked Laila Ali, daughter of former heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali.

Laila Ali (15-0) is currently the IBA super middleweight champion. She will fight Christy Martin (45-2-2) in Biloxi, Miss., on Friday, Aug. 23.

"I'd like to ask that all mothers let their daughters be tomboys and bring them out to my next fight," Eplion said.
