COAL GROVE - A Coal Grove man and two runaway juveniles from South Point were apprehended Monday morning and charged with burglary.
Coal Grove Police officer Jason Bloomfield said Billy Joe Darby, 24, was also charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Bloomfield said the property owner called authorities shortly after 9 a.m. and said she had surprised a burglar at a vacant house she owns on Zoar Hill Road. Darby and the two females, ages 17 and 15, were apprehended a short time later. The two juveniles had been reported missing over the weekend.
"They were using it as a hideout, some place to stay and sleep where no one would find them," Bloomfield said.
Darby was arraigned yesterday in Ironton Municipal Court. He remains in the Lawrence County Jail. The two juveniles were taken to the Boll Group Home.
