HAMILTON TOWNSHIP -- A Franklin Furnace woman was Lifeflighted to a Huntington, W.Va., hospital after her SUV rolled over yesterday morning.

Trooper Rob McClelland of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said Dawn Thompson, 39, of Franklin Furnace was driving north on State Route 650 when her 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee went off the left side of the road, going into a deep ditch. The vehicle then struck an embankment and turned over on its side.

McClelland said Thompson was unconscious when he arrived at the scene. Thompson was wearing a seat belt, which held her in place in the seat. Local fire departments arrived at the scene and removed the vehicle's windshield to get her out.
