Redmen golfers notch first win

PORTSMOUTH - And this first one belongs to the Redmen.

The Rock Hill Redmen golf team got its first win of the season by beating the Northwest Mohawks by seven strokes Thursday, 194 to 201.

"The kids played well. It was nice to get that first win," Redmen coach Jerry Evans said.

Tyler Jayne fired a 42 to lead the Redmen. Nathan Wagner had a solid round of 47, Brian Skaggs shot a 51, and Brian Medinger carded a 54.

Rock Hill will host Chesapeake Monday at the Ironton Country Club, then play in a triangular at Northwest Thursday against the Mohawks and Portsmouth Notre Dame.
