Eight arrested in drug raid arraigned

Eight people arrested late last week in a raid on a suspected crack house were arraigned Monday in Ironton Municipal Court.
Most will appear in court again next month for pretrial hearings.
Ironton Municipal Court Judge O. Clark Collins Jr. set bond at $2,500 for Kenneth Freeman, 56, of 1822 South Eighth Street, who was charged with two counts of permitting drug abuse and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He remains in the Lawrence County Jail and will appear in court Oct. 2 for a pretrial hearing.
Bond was set at $7,500 for Victoria Zimmerman, 47, Portsmouth, who is charged with possession of criminal tools, possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Zimmerman's preliminary hearing will be Thursday in municipal court. She remains in jail.
Walter Christian, 57, of 10141 State Route 243 South Point, remains in jail on a $2,500 bond. He is charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 2.
Bond was set at $750 for Todd S. Simpson, 32, 618 Washington St., Coal Grove, who is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He will also appear in court Oct. 2 for a preliminary hearing.
The others involved posted bond previously and are free pending their Oct. 2 hearings: Michael Gannon, 47, of 365 Township Road 253E Ironton, who is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia; James W. Fleming, 33, 619 Pine St., Ironton, who is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia; Charles E. Holley, 42, 506 Township Road 338 Ironton, who is charged with possession of crack cocaine and Michael Patrick, 36, 3018 South Sixth St., Ironton, who was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
The eight people were arrested Friday at Freeman's residence.
