Growin' up, I went to a Catholic school and we had them there nuns helpin' to teach us our right from wrong as well as our lessons. Welp, I remember one nun especially well. She really like watching our football team play, but then one year she up and left the school.

The nun, Sister Mary Katherine, decided to enter the Monastery of Silence. When she got there, the priest said, "Sister, this is a silent monastery. You are welcome here as long as you like, but you may not speak until I direct you to do so."

Sister Mary Katherine lived in the monastery for five years before the priest said to her, "Sister, you have been here for five years. You can speak two words.

So Sister Mary Katherine said, "Hard bed."

"I'm sorry to hear that," the priest said. "We will get you a better, softer bed."

Another five years went by and the priest told Sister Mary Katherine, "You may say another two words."

And she said, "Cold food."

The priest assured the nun that the food would be better in the future.

On her 15th anniversary at the monastery, the priest again called Sister Mary Katherine into his office and said, "You may say two more words today."

Sister Mary Katherine looked at the priest and said, "I quit."

The priest nodded his head, sighed and then said, "It's probably best. You've done nothing but complain since you got here."

Ennywho, last week I posted a sizzlin' 12-1 record to bring the season total to 35-6 (.854 percentage). Man, I would love to pick me a perfect week, but the games this week are awful tough. But onward I plunge.

Wellston at Rock Hill: I is sure ev'ryone is pickin' Wellston, but fer some reason I just gots this feeling in the pit of my stomach. Of course, it could be the three-day old lasagna I ate. Upset special. Rock Hill 20, Wellston 18.

Vinton County at Chesapeake: The beat-up Panthers may not be able to stop Vinton Country's run through the OVC. Then again, they just might. Chesapeake 27, Vinton County 20.
