Caldwell promoted to news editor

Michael Caldwell has been promoted to news editor of The Ironton Tribune, effective immediately.

"In his short time with The Tribune, Mike has shown a

tremendous amount of dedication and professionalism," said Shawn Doyle, managing editor of The Tribune. "We feel with Mike's experience at the newspaper, his enthusiasm for journalism and his knowledge of the area, this is a perfect fit."

Caldwell, 28, came to The Tribune as an intern in May 2002. He was hired as a full-time reporter in August 2002. The Ashland, Ky., native graduated from Marshall University in May 2003 with a bachelor's degree in journalism.

"I am excited about the opportunity to continue to work in the community that has been a huge part of my life," Caldwell said. "I look forward to new challenges."
