COAL GROVE - Former Coal Grove Hornets head football coach Dave Lucas will be honored prior to Friday's game against the Fairland Dragons.
Lucas, who was inducted last March into the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame, will be honored for his accomplishments as the Hornets coach.
Lucas won or shared 15 Ohio Valley Conference championships, more than any coach since the league was founded in 1954, during his tenure. He compiled a 154-70-1 record in 22 seasons for a 68.8 winning percentage.
His teams had only three losing seasons. The school and the OVC's winningest coach, Lucas was 95-24 in the league.
