A big loss meant only a little drop.
Despite a 40-0 loss at Division III powerhouse Columbus DeSales, the Ironton Fighting Tigers fell just three spots from second to fifth in the Associated Press Division IV football poll.
Ironton, 8-1, still managed two first place votes and 175 points.
Versailles has the poll championship virtually locked up with 372 points and 30 first place votes. Clinton-Massie has moved into the No. 2 spot just one point ahead of Coldwater.
Coshocton is fourth with 190 points. After Ironton is Youngstown Cardinal Mooney with 172 points, only three behind Ironton.
Bellaire is seventh followed by Upper Sandusky, Apple Creek Waynesdale and Delta.
The Symmes Valley Vikings cracked the poll in Division VI. The Vikings had 13 points to share 14th place with Lancaster Fisher Catholic and Marion Catholic.
Other poll leaders have Warren Harding taking over in Div. I, Avon Lake the new leader in Div. II, Cleveland Benedictine still atop Div. III, Marion Pleasant again No. 1 in Div. V, and Columbus Grove continues to hold off Norwalk St. Paul in Div. VI.
