Fans encouraged to buy playoff tickets in advance

If you are a true fan of your team, buy early.
The postseason high school football playoffs create excitement, but they do little to generate money for participating schools. The Ohio High School Athletic Association allows teams only 20 percent of the ticket presale.
For that reason, fans are encouraged to purchase playoff tickets in advance. The incentive to buy early for students is even greater since student tickets are $5 in advance but $6 at the gate. Adult tickets are $6 in advance and at the gate.
Ironton will sell playoff tickets in the high school principal's office through Thursday since there is no school Friday. Tickets will also be available at Bob Linn Sporting Goods during business hours until 3 p.m. Saturday.
Rock Hill will sell tickets at all district schools as well as the board office. Adult tickets are also available at Lambert's Market.
Gates open at 5 p.m. for the Rock Hill at Ironton game on Saturday. Ironton fans will sit on the home side.
Chesapeake will sell tickets at the high school. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. as Wheelersburg plays at Chesapeake Friday.
Symmes Valley and Fairland will be selling tickets at their respective high school principal offices.
Also, the Ohio High School Athletic Association has requested that the playoff site not become a venue for political campaigning. All political signs and other items are not to be passed out to the public at this time.
