CHESAPEAKE- Do you have an hour or two of free time, and a desire to help children?

The staff at Chesapeake Elementary School is looking for you. Principal Jack Finch said people who would like to volunteer at the school are invited to a Volunteer Night at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

"During the meeting we will outline our goals for involving the community in our school and in education," Finch said.

Finch said staff members representing all grade levels will be available to provide orientation. The school Parent-Teacher Organization will pay for the required background checks and Chesapeake Assistant Police Chief Tim Newman will conduct the required fingerprinting.
