PEDRO - The Rock Hill Child Development Center has a director at its helm now.
In a special meeting Friday night, the Board of Education hired Johnna Lunsford as the center's director, effective today. Lunsford comes to the district from the Lawrence County Educational Service Center, where she is a supervisor.
The move to hire Lunsford is the second attempt at hiring a new director for the day care and preschool. Last month, a motion to hire former MR/DD Superintendent Jimmy Thacker failed by a 3-2 vote.
The board also accepted the resignation of football coach Robert McCollister. McCollister has been coach for the Redmen football team for more than 10 years.
This year, the Redmen went 7-4 and made the Division IV, Region 15 playoffs. They lost to Ironton in the first round.
