SEATTLE (AP) - Cleveland Browns quarterback Tim Couch was knocked out of Sunday's game at Seattle with a sprained left knee.

Couch, playing for the first time since Oct. 26, took over in the third quarter after Kelly Holcomb was ineffective. Trainers plan to re-evaluate Couch after the team returns to Cleveland.

''It's sore, obviously,'' said Couch, who completed 1 of 3 passes for 5 yards. ''Right now, we think it's a sprained MCL. We're hoping that's all it is.''

Couch was hurt on Cleveland's second series of the half. He collided with Seattle's Chike Okeafor while under pressure and remained on the turf for several minutes before being helped by trainers to the sideline.

''I was excited to go back on the field, for sure,'' Couch said. ''It was only for a few plays. I wish it could have been longer, but these things happen. It's an unfortunate injury.''
