The Eagles began the game with a 15-0 run, then withstood a late rally by Green to get the win.

"We just got off to a situation where we couldn't do anything right," Green coach Kevin Lewis said. "We had some good looks early and the ball wouldn't go in the basket.

"It seems like when things start going bad, we can't get them turned. The desire and effort were there. We showed a lot of guts."

Cody Fannin scored 16 points and Phillip Meeks 12 for Fairview.

Aaron Patten scored 19 points and Timmy Yarnell 16 to pace Green, 1-3. Yarnell had eight rebounds while Derek Lewis had five rebounds and three assists.

Trailing 18-6, Patten had six points in the second quarter and Green was down 33-21 at the break.

The Bobcats closed to within 44-38

in the third quarter as Patten scored eight points.

But Fannin scored six points and the Eagles converted 7 of 10 free throws in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
