Lady Lions capture KFC/Pepsi tourney

SUMMIT, Ky. - The Boyd County Lady Lions beat the Ashland Lady Kittens 47-41 to win the Kentucky Fried Chicken/Pepsi Colonel Classic Wednesday.

Kasi Galloway has 18 points to lead Boyd County (8-4). Latasha Henry scored 17 points and Pam Farrow 11 for Ashland (5-4) which made just 1 of 11 shots from 3-point range.

Ironton won the third place game 53-50, Lexington Dunbar beat Belfry 54-51 for fifth place, and Fleming County topped Pikeville 57-49 in the seventh place game.

Galloway was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. Also selected to the all-tournament team were Ironton's Sara Hacker, Farrow, Henry, Katie Brittian (LCA), Brianna Green (Dunbar), Emily Londen (LCA), Brandi Mahar (Boyd County), Jennifer Swann (Boyd County), Anna Bevins (Belfry) and Melissa Isenberg (Fleming County).
