PROCTORVILLE - They say charity begins at home. The Fairland Dragons took it to heart.

The River Valley Raiders picked up an Ohio Valley Conference road win Saturday by making 17 of 24 attempts at the charity stripe in beating the Dragons 52-39.

"We just made too many mistakes and killed ourselves," Fairland coach John McClung said. "Jeremy Pritt got in foul trouble in the third quarter and that hurt, and River Valley did a good job at the line in the fourth quarter."

The two teams combined for only five field goals in the fourth quarter. Fairland scored just four points while the Raiders were 8 of 8 from the line.

Pritt had 13 points and five rebounds for the Dragons (4-5, 1-1) while Matt Clark added 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Steve Harder scored 20 points to lead River Valley, which picked up its first win of the season.

Clark and Pritt combined for eight points in the first quarter as Fairland took a 12-10 lead.

Pritt had seven more points in the second quarter and it was 24-22 at the half.

But Pritt sat out almost the entire third quarter in foul trouble and River Valley rallied to take a 38-35 lead.

The Dragons were forced to foul down the stretch and River Valley responded well as Colby Reese was 4 of 4 at the line while Harder and Darren Clark each converted 2 of 2.
