CHESHIRE - Four placers meant fourth place.
The Fairland Dragons had four wrestlers place as they finished fourth in the River Valley Invitational Saturday.
Gallipolis won the tournament with a 4-1 record. Pt. Pleasant, 4-1, was second and River Valley, also 4-1, took third place.
Places for teams with identical records were determined by special criteria.
Fairland was 3-2 to place fourth followed by Crooksville at 3-2, Vinton County 2-3, Greenfield McClain 1-4, and Federal Hocking was 0-5.
Michael Blatt went 4-1 to place fourth in the 189-pound division for Fairland.
Three wrestlers placed third as Travis Jones was 4-1 at 135 pounds, Tim Layne 4-1 in the 145 division, and Casey Galligan ran his record to 21-3 with a 4-1 record in the 160 class.
"Casey wrestled really well. His only loss was to a state qualifier," Fairland coach William Chambers said. "And Michael Blatt was on our reserve team and he did a nice job against varsity wrestlers. It was a really good tournament."
The Dragons wrestled Friday at Chesapeake.
