The Symmes Valley Junior Vikings had a busy week as the girls and 8th grade boys won twice while the 7th grade boys lost their only game.

Emily Bowling had 12 points in a 29-21 win over New Boston. Bowling had 16 points and Ashley Ferris 10 as the Vikes beat Portsmouth Notre Dame.

The 8th grade boys topped New Boston 37-33 behind Matt Tibbs' 12 points. Brice Sexton scored 10 points in a 40-25 win over Notre Dame.

The 7th grade boys lost their first game as they fell to Notre Dame 39-32. Robby Powell scored 11 and Jerry Johnson eight for the Vikings.

Symmes Valley plays Monday at Hannan Trace.

South Point vs. Coal Grove

SOUTH POINT - The South Point Junior Pointers 7th and 8th grade teams each posted Ohio Valley Conference Middle School wins Thursday over the Coal Grove Junior Hornets.

The 8th grade (7-4) won 48-40 as Kyle Hughes and Zach Woody scored 14 points each. Zach Murphy had 16 points for the Hornets.

Chase Kratzenberg had 13 points and Jordan Fletcher 10 as the 7th grade (7-4) won 41-25.
