MERCERVILLE - Shawn Hacker had an awesome individual performance.

Unfortunately for the St. Joseph Flyers, the South Gallia Rebels had an awesome team performance.

The Rebels shot more than 60 percent from the field as the Rebels routed the Flyers 90-58 Friday despite Hacker's performance.

Hacker, a 6-foot-7 senior center, scored a career-high 45 points and pulled down 19 rebounds. He had 27 of the Flyers 31 second half points.

"It was one of those nights," Flyers coach Adam Simpson said. "They just couldn't miss. They had 10 3s and it was even the guys off the bench who were busting 3s. They're a senior team and they know how to work on our young kids."

St. Joseph was 12 of 19 from the field in the first half but trailed 47-27.

"We shot pretty well the first and yet we were still down 20 at the half," Simpson said.

South Gallia had six players in double figures led by Curtis Waugh with 16. Dustin Lewis and Josh Waugh scored 14 each while David Bayless, Gerald Cade, and Brandon Caldwell had 10 points apiece.

The Rebels led 21-15 after the first quarter as Jason Merrick scored six points and Curtis Waugh five. Hacker had 10 points and Jeremy Addis nailed a 3-pointer.

Josh Waugh got 12 points and Caldwell six in the second quarter as South Gallia raced to its 20-point halftime lead.

St. Joseph fell to 2-10 on the season. South Gallia evened its record at 5-5.
