COLUMBUS - Ohio State guard Nick Dials has a stress fracture in his right wrist and will miss a month.

Dials, a freshman walk-on who was presented a scholarship before the season, suffered the injury in practice more than two weeks ago, but the fracture wasn't discovered until Thursday, a team spokesman said.

With Dials' injury, the Buckeyes have lost two backups in the last two weeks. Sophomore swingman Matt Sylvester strained the arch in his left foot at Iowa on Jan. 24 and is ''a couple of weeks away'' from returning, Ohio State coach Jim O'Brien said Saturday.d
