Columbus man sentenced on drug charges

A Columbus-area man will go to prison for three years after signing a bill of information last week in connection with a drug charge against him.

According to information from the Lawrence County Prosecutor's Office Ghermaine Glass, 23, was arrested April 11 at a local motel and was charged with third-degree felony trafficking in crack cocaine.

Lawrence County Common Pleas Judge Frank McCown ordered Glass to pay a $5,000 fine and surrender his driver's license for 12 months.

Glass was also ordered to surrender cash confiscated by local authorities at the time of his arrest and was ordered to pay all court costs associated with his case. He was given credit for time served.

Another person arrested with Glass, Samantha Bynes, 19, also of Columbus, remains in the Lawrence County Jail awaiting resolution of the case against her. She was arrested on one count of complicity to trafficking in crack cocaine.

During that raid, agents with the Lawrence County Drug Task Force confiscated eight grams of crack cocaine.
