PROCTORVILLE - When you get good pitching and good hitting, you're chances of winning are pretty good.

For the Fairland Lady Dragons Saturday, they were really good.

Behind the two-hit pitching of Megan Auxier and an 18-hit attack by the offense, Fairland drubbed the Spring Valley (W.Va.) Lady Timberwolves 15-0 in five innings.

"Everything went our way. We had good pitching and good hitting," Fairland coach Leroy Baise said. "It was nice to get to play. We haven't played since Wednesday."

Kristin Clausing led the assault as she went 4-4 with two doubles and four runs batted in. Megan Fisher was 2-3 with three RBI, Mandy Clark was 2-4 and three RBI, Erika Smoot and Kelly Curry each went 2-3, and Kate Nida was 2-4.

Fairland decided the issue quickly with a 10-run explosion in the first inning.

Fisher, Clausing, and Clausing, Curry all singled for two run. Berry then had a two-run single and it was 4-0.

Fisher doubled home a pair of runs on her second trip to the plate in the inning that opened up a 6-0 lead.

The Lady Dragons applied the mercy rule with five runs in the fourth inning.

Smoot reached on an error, Curry singled, and Auxier singled to load the bases. Fisher walked to force in a run, and Mandy Clark singled home two more runs.

Clausing capped the uprising with a two-run double.

Fairland, 2-1, hosts River Valley Monday in the Ohio Valley Conference opener.
