COAL GROVE - Approximately half of the residents on the Village of Coal Grove woke up to find they had no water this morning.
An eight-inch line on Marion Pike near Sunset Nursing Home broke during the early morning hours. Workers spent the morning making repairs.
"It just split. It's an old line," Mayor Larry McDaniel said. "The water line break affected residents on the upper end of the village, including schools in the Dawson-Bryant District. School officials canceled classes due to lack of water.
McDaniel said he hoped the repairs would be completed some time this morning.
