Kaesviharn inks 3-year contract

CINCINNATI - Restricted free agent Kevin Kaesviharn signed a three-year contract to remain with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Kaesviharn played free safety and cornerback last season and was a leader on special teams with the Bengals. The Bengals declined to reveal contract terms Monday.

In his three seasons with the Bengals, Kaesviharn has played 42 games including 16 starts, with six interceptions and 145 tackles. Last season, he played in every game with seven starts.

He saw more snaps on special teams (312) than any other Bengals player last season and had one interception with 59 tackles, including a sack.

Kaesviharn focused on playing free safety last season, after spending his first two seasons primarily as a cornerback. He tied for the team lead in interceptions both of his first two seasons, picking off three in 2001 and two in 2002.
