Rock Hill beats St. Joseph17-4

HAVERHILL - The offense continues to produce.

The Rock Hill Redmen had another big offensive production as rolled past the Ironton St. Joseph Flyers 17-4 Friday.

The Redmen combined 13 hits, 14 walks and two hit batsmen to improve their record to 2-5.

"It was a good all-around team effort. We had a lot of hits, but we were patient at the plate as evident by the 14 walks," Redmen coach Barry Litteral said.

"But St. Joe is getting better. They hit the ball pretty good."

K.C. Christian went 3-4 with a double, triple, and four runs scored to lead the offense. T.J. Blagg was 2-2 with five runs scored, and Nathan Wagner went 2-4.

Kurt Jordan was 2-2 with three runs scored for the Flyers (0-5). Alex Swarts and Ryan Waginger each went 1-2.

After Rock Hill took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, the Flyers came back to grab a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the inning.

but Christian had three-run triple to highlight an eight-run second inning that blew the game wide open.

Justin Lavender picked up the win for the Redmen as he went the distance. He allowed just four hits, struck out two and did not walk a batter.
