Green rips Western, 28-3

LATHAM - The Green Bobcats scored three first half touchdowns. Er, wait. This is baseball.

Travis Klaiber belted a grand slam and drove in eight runs as Green walloped Western Pike 28-3 Wednesday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

The Bobcats banged out 22 hits. Adam Sparks was 3-4 with five runs batted in. Derek Lewis is 3-4 with two RBI, and Brad Dehart was 2-4 with two RBI. Klaiber was 2-5.

Things got out of hand quickly as Green scored 11 runs in the first inning and 11 more in the second inning.

Green, 8-2 overall and 6-1 in the SOC, plays at Portsmouth Notre Dame Friday in a league game.
