SOUTH POINT - Former Chicago Cubs great Ernie Banks used to say, "Let's play two."

The South Point Lady Pointers didn't just play two, they said, "We won two."

The Lady Pointers swept the Coal Grove Lady Hornets in a pair of five-inning Ohio Valley Conference softball games Friday, 8-0 and 12-5.

Ashley Patrick got the win in the first game while Maria Viglianco came on in relief. The two limited Coal Grove to one hit.

South Point erupted for 15 hits in the second game and Viglianco notched the win with relief help from Patrick.

The Lady Pointers offense was led by Viglianco, Summer Malone and Weed as each went 2-3.

South Point is 11-9 overall and 6-3 in the OVC.
