Redwomen roll to district finals

LUCASVILLE - Nothing had been settled halfway through Friday’s Division III district semifinal softball game. But in the second half of the game, the Rock Hill Redwomen settled in.
Rock Hill scored 15 runs over the final three innings en route to a 19-4 rout of the Peebles Indians.
&uot;We just started hitting the ball,&uot; Rock Hill coach Mary Harper said.
The game was tied 4-4 after Peebles scored twice in the top of the fourth inning. Rock Hill then erupted for seven runs in the bottom of the inning.
Mandy Estep doubled to start the rally. Melissa McFann singled and then Kayla Wilson and Marie Bamer walked. Cassy Chaffins was hit by a pitch, and Keshia Rupp had a two-run double.
Monica Bamer walked, Bobbi Harper bunted the runner over, and Estep singled home two more runs.
The Redwomen then scored four runs each in the fifth and sixth innings to end the game.
Bobbi Harper got the win with Estep working the sixth inning for the save.
Chaffins went 4-4 to lead Rock Hill’s 18-hit assault. Monica Bamer was 3-3, Marie Bamer 2-3, Estep 304, and
Rock Hill played Zane Trace at 1 p.m. Saturday in the district finals.
