The River, as "Rhino," was arrested at 4 a.m. Thursday outside a Rome Township residence.

Lawrence County Sheriff Tim Sexton said his office was contacted approximately a month ago by a Rome Township family that was concerned that someone was leaving obscene material in their daughter's automobile.

"This had been going on several months and they had gotten concerned because it had become more frequent," Sexton said. "We began surveillance. The subject was arrested. He was seen at the scene and was taken into custody. … We feel confident he's the person who's been doing it."

Sexton declined to say how Reinhardt and the victim knew each other, but said prior to his arrest, the victim and her family did not suspect Reinhardt was the person leaving the obscene material.

Reinhardt was housed in the Lawrence County Jail but released on bail. He was scheduled to appear today in Lawrence County Municipal Court.

A native of Ironton, Reinhardt has been employed at a number of local radio stations and is the morning personality for "The Rhino Rise and Shine Show" on WRYV 101.5 "The River" radio station in Gallipolis.

Dave Diddle, general sales manager for the radio station, said management would make a decision about Reinhardt's future after getting all the information about what happened.

"This came as a complete shock to the management and staff of Legend Communications," Diddle said. "Steve Reinhardt was a valued employee and has provided great leadership to the staff."
