K.C. Christian and T.J. Blagg combined to score six touchdowns as the Rock Hill Redmen routed the Oak Hill Oaks 41-19 Friday to give coach Todd Knipp his first career victory.

"It felt real good. The kids were excited. I think they just wanted to pour water on me," said Knipp after being bathed in ice water.

Christian ran 12 times for 189 yards and scored four touchdowns while Blagg had 146 yards on 16 attempts and added two scores. The Redmen (1-2) racked up 464 total yards, all on the ground.

"They both ran really well. Our offensive line did really good job getting off the ball and getting into their blocks," Knipp said. "We did a better job executing our offense."

Oak Hill amassed 401 total yards of its own including 263 on the ground. Brandon Potts ran for 86 yards on nine rushes while quarterback Andy Elcess hit 15 of 36 attempts for 138 yards.

"They were dangerous. Their quarterback and wide receiver were pretty good athletes," Knipp said. "There were a lot of times we were in position to make plays and didn't. But give them credit. They executed the passing game pretty well."

Christian had a 16-yard scoring run and Blagg added the conversion for an 8-0 lead midway through the first quarter.

Oak Hill (0-3) answered with a 1-yard scoring run by Elcess, but Rock Hill took over the game in the second quarter as Christian broke off touchdown runs of 40 and 46 yards and Blagg added a 14-yard TD scamper to make it 27-7 at the half.

Christian returned an interception 80 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter that extended the lead to 34-7 after Matt McFann's conversion kick.

Potts had a 3-yard scoring run to start the fourth quarter, but Rock Hill answered with a 19-yard run into the end zone by Blagg and the lead was 41-13.

Oak Hill capped the scoring with a 12-yard pass from Elcess to Josh French.
