POMEROY - If offense sells tickets, this one should have been standing room only.

The Fairland Dragons and Meigs Marauders combined for 842 total yards and 60 points Friday night, but it was Meigs that came away with a 36-24 win.

Jared Casey had 31 carries for 224 yards as Meigs rushed for 368 as a team. Quarterback Eric Cullums hit 4 of 16 passes for 91 yards.

Adam Fuller had a big game for the Dragons as he gained 94 yards on 15 carries. Quarterback Michael Hill was 15 of 36 for 240 yards but suffered three interceptions. He also ran for 49 yards.

Travis Cardwell led Fairland in receiving with two catches for 77 yards and Sam Huff had four grabs for 63 yards.

Fuller gave Fairland its only lead of the game on a 23-yard run midway through the first quarter.

Meigs then ran off 22 unanswered points in the second quarter to lead 22-6 at the break.

Casey ran 35 yards for a score, Cullums hit Eric VanMeter with a 43-yard scoring strike, and Cullums returned an interception 38 yards for a touchdown.

Josh Buzzard booted a 23-yard field goal just before the half that extended the lead.

Fairland (1-4) cut the deficit to 22-12 as Hill tossed a 3-yard scoring pass to tight end Wes Ripley, but Meigs came right back with a scoring drive capped by Casey's 16-yard run and it was 29-12.

Cardwell and Hill hooked up on a 50-yard scoring strike early in the fourth quarter to get within 29-18, but Cullums had a 2-yard touchdown run with just 2:09 left to seal the victory.

Hill ran 4 yards for a touchdown with only 17 seconds to play.
