The Chesapeake Lady Panthers played a strong first half, but they faltered in the second half in losing to the Minford Lady Falcons 57-29 in the Logan Invitational finals Tuesday.

"We played well the first half, but we couldn't get anything going in the third quarter. It was a terrible second half. We just got out of sync," Lady Panthers coach John McClung said.

"They were more physical than us and we didn't match them."

The Lady Panthers were down just 14-12 at the end of the first quarter and trailed only 23-19 at the half.

But Chesapeake got only one point in the third quarter as Minford outscored the Panthers 18-1 to take a comfortable 41-20 lead.

Sara Rucker had 6 points and seven rebounds while Candace Dickerson also had 6 points for the Lady Panthers (5-6).

Katie Donahue had 14 points for Minford.
