A South Point woman accused in connection with a shooting earlier this year was arraigned Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

Valerie Moore, 31, of 13 Township Road 1130,

is charged with

one count of fourth-degree felonious assault with a firearm specification. Lawrence County Common Pleas Judge Richard Walton scheduled her pretrial conference for Jan. 5.

Moore was arrested at her residence in October after Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies were responded to a call for help in regard to a shooting.

Upon arrival, they found a man at that residence had been shot several times.

At the time of the shooting, Lawrence County Sheriff Tim Sexton said Moore had obtained a civil protection order against her victim last year.

Moore was indicted in November by a Lawrence County grand jury.
