PROCTORVILLE - Just when it looked like the Fairland Dragons had a major upset in hand, lady luck visited the Jackson Ironmen.

Reid Arnold hit a fallaway 28-foot bank shot at the buzzer to tie the game and send the game into overtime, then Jackson squeezed out a 50-47 win over Fairland Dragons Tuesday.

"I couldn't be any prouder of a team. They played so hard and deserved to win," Fairland coach Chad Belville said. "Matt Burd had a hand in (Arnold's) face. It was just one of those shots."

Kyle Wise hit a 3-pointer to put Fairland up 33-32 to start the fourth quarter. The lead see-sawed the rest of the quarter with Fairland making just 2 of 5 from the line down the stretch to set up Arnold's shot with Jackson trailing 45-42.

In overtime, each team scored to start the extra period when Fairland hit a foul shot for a 48-47 lead. After a turnover, Jackson got the ball back and scored to set the final score.

Todd Maynard led Fairland (1-8) with 21 points and five rebounds. Burd had seven rebound and Zach Pemberton five.

"We hit the boards had and outrebounded them. They're a big, strong team," Belville said of the Dragons 25-to-16 rebound advantage.

Josh Johnson handed out four assists and Travis Cardwell three for the Dragons.

Reid had 14 points and Jared Humphrey scored 13 for Jackson, 7-1.
