CINCINNATI - (AP) Sophomore Adam Simons, a 6-foot-10 center from North Carolina State, has transferred to Xavier and will be eligible to play in the second semester of next season.

Simons attended classes at Xavier on Monday and will be allowed to practice with the team. Players who transfer are required by the NCAA to sit out one full season.

The Musketeers desperately need another post player. Junior forward Brian Thornton is their leading scorer and rebounder, but two reserve post players have suffered significant injuries.
