Raiders rally past Pointers

CHESHIRE - With the South Point Pointers, the glass was half full and half empty.

The Pointers had a full first half, then faltered in the second half as they lost 60-55 to the River Valley Raiders Tuesday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

J.T. Terry scored 10 points in the first quarter as South Point went in front 17-13.

Terry had 6 more points in the the second quarter as the lead grew to 35-20 at the half.

But River Valley drained four 3-pointers in the third quarter - two by Colby Reese - and outscored the Pointers 21-10 to slice the lead to 45-42.

Another problem for the Pointers was turnovers. They had just six the first half but 10 in the second half. South Point scored just 20 points in the second half, 12 by Jeremiah Taylor.

The Pointers were led by Taylor with 22 points and seven rebounds. Terry finished with 18 points as South Point fell to 3-8 overall and 1-3 in the OVC.

River Valley (5-5, 2-2) was led by Reese with 22 points. Stephen Harder had 17 points.
