PEDRO - Giving away the ball caused the Rock Hill Redmen to give away the game.

The Redmen were guilty of 30 turnovers compared to 19 for the Jackson Ironmen as Rock Hill lost 53-36 Tuesday in a non-league game.

"We played hard against a quality team. It was pretty much a 6 to 8 point ball game until the end when we had to foul," Redmen coach Marty Mills said.

"Turnovers killed us. We've been doing a better job the last couple of games. But I can't fault their effort. We're starting to mature a little and we're starting to create some mismatches."

Jackson led 11-8 after the first quarter. Jared Humphreys scored 8 points in the second quarter as Jackson built a 28-16 halftime lead.

K.C. Christian scored 6 points in the third quarter as Rock Hill got within 37-27. Christian had 7 more points in the fourth quarter as Rock Hill closed the gap to 6 points, but Max Morrow got 6 points as the Ironmen pulled away to their 11th win in 13 games.

Christian led Rock Hill (3-11) with 19 points - 13 in the second half - to go with five rebounds and five steals. Andrew Stumbo grabbed seven rebounds and Matt Matney had five rebounds. Artie Mullins handed out four assists.

"Artie Mullins played pretty well, and Andrew Stumbo had his best game of the year," Mills said. "We are competing. I can't ask any more of them."

Humphreys led Jackson with 17 points and Morrow scored 12.
