ROCK HILL - The Fairland Junior Lady Dragons whipped the South Point Junior Lady Pointers 48-20 Monday in the Ohio Valley Conference 8th grade girls tournament semifinals.

McKenzie Rucker had 17 points to lead a balanced Fairland offense. Krystal Statler had 13 for South Point.

Coal Grove won 36-25 over Rock Hill as Daniel Carpenter scored 12 points and Jordan Cox had 9 points. Jamie Scott scored 7 and Elisha Daniels 6 for Rock Hill.

In Wednesday's 7th grade semifinals, Fairland and South Point advanced to the finals.

Fairland topped Rock Hill 34-15 as Jordan Fulks scored 14 points and Shelby Fuller 13.

Tinesha Taylor had 15 points and Courtney Koukos 12 as South Point beat Coal Grove 33-21. Alex Walker led Coal Grove with 9 points.

Thursday at Rock Hill Middle School, Fairland (7-1) and South Point (5-3) meet in the 7th grade title game at 5:30 p.m. followed by Fairland (7-1, 9-6 overall) and Coal Grove (7-1) in the 8th grade championship.
