Jr. Lady Dragons sweep OVC titles

PEDRO - The girls Ohio Valley Conference Middle School basketball championship games had a distinct green tint.
The Fairland Junior Lady Dragons swept the 7th and 8th grade tournament titles Thursday. The 7th grade beat South Point 39-14 while the 8th grade won 38-22 over Coal Grove.
"I'm tickled. Our 8th grade girls have been sick lately and it was nice to finish well. We always seem to peak at the right time," Fairland coach Mike Allen said.
McKenzie Rucker scored 20 points including a pair of 3-pointers as the 8th grade won to finish 10-6 on the season.
Emily McMaster had 11 points and Shelby Fuller 9 as the Fairland 7th grade completed a 15-1 season.
Tinesha Taylor had 7 points for South Point.
