ATHENS - Just paint the Green Lady Bobcats winners.

After ignoring their game plan in the first half, the Lady Bobcats took the ball into the paint and pulled away in the second half to a 53-35 win over the South Gallia Lady Rebels Wednesday in the Division IV sectional semifinals.

Green coach Melissa Knapp was unhappy that her team was tied 19-19 at the half, so she reminded her team of the game plan.

"We had 4 points in the paint in the first half and we turned that around the second half. That was our plan going in, but we didn't start doing it until the second half," Knapp said.

Green led just 9-8 after the first quarter. Elista Hall scored 4 points in the second quarter to help offset 5 points by the Rebels' Jessica Cantrell and the game was tied at the break.

Kortney Plfeger had 5 points in the third quarter as Green took the lead at 30-23.

The Lady Bobcats outscored South Gallia 23-12 in the fourth quarter as Leigh Ann Williams scored 7 points. Niki Fulks and Cantrell combined for 10 of the Rebel points.

Pfleger scored 13 points and Williams 9 to lead the Lady Bobcats. Cantrell and Fulks had 10 points each for South Gallia (3-18).

Green (12-8) will play Symmes Valley at 2:45 p.m. Saturday in the sectional finals.
