PEDRO - It was a perfect ending.

The South Point Lady Pointers beat the Rock Hill Redwomen 59-33 Saturday to complete a perfect run through the Ohio Valley Conference.

South Point finished the season 18-2 overall and 10-0 in the OVC. Coach Dave Adams praised his team for their accomplishment.

"At the beginning of the season, I knew we had a good team, but I didn't think we would go unbeaten in the conference," Adams said.

Jessica Craft had 16 points to lead a balanced offense. Alisha Bridges and Sarah Lee added 9 points each.

Mandy McKenzie scored 13 points for Rock Hill (2-14, 1-9).

Bridges scored 7 of her points in the first quarter including a 3-pointer as South Point built an 18-5 lead.

Craft and Summer Malone scored 6 points each in the second quarter as the lead ballooned to 38-10 at the half.

Craft scored 6 more points in the third quarter to extend the lead to 53-17.

Carla Bias had 7 points and McKenzie 4 points in the fourth quarter as Rock Hill outscored the Pointers 16-6.

"We played a lot better defense this year, especially after the Northwest game. Now we have to get ready for Portsmouth or Portsmouth West," Adams said.

South Point plays at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lucasville Valley in the Div. III sectional finals against the winner of the Portsmouth vs. Portsmouth West game.
