Top-ranked Illinois pounds Penn State for 26th straight win
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - Roger Powell Jr. went 10-for-10 from the field and scored 21 points and Dee Brown added 19 points to lead No. 1 Illinois to its 26th straight win, 83-63 over Penn State on Wednesday night.
The Illini (26-0, 12-0 Big Ten) topped the school record of 25 consecutive wins which was set over three seasons from February 1914 to February 1916.
Geary Claxton had 19 points for the Nittany Lions (7-17, 1-10), who dropped to 0-10 all-time against top-ranked teams.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - Rashad McCants had 23 points and Sean May added 17 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Tar Heels (21-3, 9-2), who moved within one-half game of first-place Wake Forest in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Gary Forbes had 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting for the Cavaliers (13-10, 4-8), who lost 110-76 to North Carolina in their earlier meeting.
No. 6 Boston College 74, Rutgers 64
BOSTON (AP) - Sean Marshall scored 22 points and Jared Dudley had 14 points and 12 rebounds as the Eagles (21-1, 10-1 Big East) bounced back from their first loss of the season.
Boston College had not played since a 68-65 loss at Notre Dame eight days ago.
Ricky Shields scored 16 points and Byron Joynes had 12 rebounds for Rutgers (8-14, 2-10), which has lost seven of eight.
No. 11 Michigan St. 81, Minnesota 62
EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Shannon Brown had 18 points and Maurice Ager added 16 for Michigan State which has won fourth straight games by double figures.
The Spartans (18-4, 9-2 Big Ten) have won 15 of their last 17 games to tie the third-best record after 22 games in school history.
Vincent Grier had 19 points for the Golden Gophers (16-9, 6-6), who have lost three straight.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Chuck Davis scored 16 of his 21 points in the second half to lead the Crimson Tide (20-4, 9-2 Southeastern Conference) to its second straight 20-win season.
Jonathon Modica was 6-of-7 from the field and scored 16 points for the Razorbacks (17-8, 5-7), who had a three-game winning streak snapped.

STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) - Guillaume Yango scored 16 points and Christian Maraker added 14 points and eight rebounds as Pacific won its 17th straight game.
Jasko Korajkic scored 12 points for the Tigers (21-2, 15-0 Big West), who scored 16 consecutive points in the second half of their 28th straight conference victory. Pacific clinched the outright Big West title with three conference games remaining.
Joe See and Alex Harris each scored 16 points for the Gauchos (8-14, 5-8), who lost their 11th straight road game.
No. 20 Wisconsin 76, Michigan 50
MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Mike Wilkinson had 22 points and nine rebounds as the Badgers handed Michigan its school record-tying ninth straight loss.
Wilkinson scored 13 points in the first half as Wisconsin (17-6, 8-4 Big Ten) took a 37-17 lead and went on to sweep the season series from the Wolverines for the first time since 1979.
Courtney Sims had 16 points for Michigan (12-14, 3-9), which lost nine straight when it dropped the last eight games in 1966-67 and the opener the following season.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Terrell Everett scored 18 points and the Sooners ended a three-game losing streak. Kevin Bookout had 12 points for the Sooners (18-6, 7-4 Big 12), who had lost four of their last five after a 10-game winning streak.
Joe McCray had 21 points for Nebraska (11-11, 4-7), which has lost seven in a row to Oklahoma.
N.C. State 82, No. 22 Maryland 63
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Ilian Evtimov and Tony Bethel each scored 17 points to lift North Carolina State.
Julius Hodge added 13 points and nine assists for the Wolfpack (15-10, 5-7 Atlantic Coast Conference), who led by 20 points in the first half. The win gave N.C. State its first regular-season sweep of the Terrapins (15-8, 6-6) since 1988-89.
Nik Caner-Medley had 19 points for Maryland, which was coming off a 99-92 overtime win against No. 7 Duke that gave the Terps their first sweep of the Blue Devils in a decade.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Curtis Withers scored 18 points and Eddie Basden added 15 points and 10 rebounds for Charlotte (18-4, 9-2 Conference USA).
Drake Diener tied the school record with seven 3-pointers and had 25 points for the Blue Demons (16-6, 8-3). His last 3 tied the game at 62 with 56 seconds left.
Brendan Plavich made three free throws in the final 30 seconds for Charlotte, which was playing its first game as a ranked team in six years.
No. 24 Cincinnati 83, Southern Mississippi 51
CINCINNATI (AP) - Jason Maxiell scored 20 points and Eric Hicks had 18 points and 12 rebounds as the Bearcats (19-6, 7-4 Conference USA) dominated up front with a 44-19 rebound advantage.
Rashaad Carruth had 16 points for the Golden Eagles (10-14, 1-11), who have lost six in a row for the second time this season.
