Green lands 3 on coaches#039; all-district team

The coaches appreciate good talent.

The Ohio High School District 14 girls basketball coaches have selected their all-star team for the 2004-05 season and several area players have been honored.

The Green Lady Bobcats landed senior Leigh Ann Williams and sophomore Elista Hall on the Division IV third team while junior Jessica Dyer was named honorable mention.

Wheelersburg landed senior Kendra Massie on the third team in Division III and sophomore teammate Brittany Meenach was honorable mention.

Portsmouth had senior Tonya McKenzie on the Div. III second team and Brya Coleman honorable mention.

The Division IV Player of the Year was Rebecca Day of Beaver Eastern with Kevin Fouch of Leesburg Fairfield the top coach.

Karen Diehl of Zane Trace was the Division III Player of the Year and she was voted the North/South All-Star Game representative for Divisions III and IV.

Richard Kiser of Eastern Brown was the Division III Coach of the Year.

In the Division I and II voting, Dennale Speakman of Unioto was the Player of the Year and James Stutzman of Miami Trace the top coach.

Speakman was the North/South representative, too.

The district honored Tim Gossett of Greenfield McClain as the Assistant Coach of the Year.
