SR 775 wreck sends four to hospital

PROCTORVILLE - Four Proctorville residents were injured Wednesday evening in a two vehicle accident at the intersection of State Route 775 and Irene Road.

Ohio State Highway Patrol Sgt. Michael Gore said Nicholas R. Zundel, 16, of Proctorville, was traveling south on State Route 775 and was attempting to make an eastbound turn onto Irene Road when he apparently turned into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

The driver of the second vehicle, Jack T. Sowards, 37, of Proctorville, was not injured, but three passengers in his car were taken to St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.

Tammy Sowards, 40, was treated and released. Information was not available for Nathan Sowards, 10, and Amanda Sowards, 12. A fourth passenger, Casey Sowards, 14, was not injured.

Neither Nicholas Zundel nor a passenger in his vehicle, Joshua Zundel, were injured. Nicholas Zundel was cited for failure to yield right of way.
