BOYD COUNTY, Ky. - An Ironton couple will be tried for allegedly obtaining prescription narcotics by fraud.

Larry R. Pemberton, 49, and Tina Thompson, 29, of Ironton, each pleaded innocent in Boyd Circuit Court Friday to 137 counts of using fake prescriptions to obtain pharmaceuticals.

A trial date has been set for Sept. 21

Authorities charge that Thompson abused

her post at an Ashland physician's office to call in the prescriptions that she and Pemberton would later go pick up. Police have said they received more than 15,000 pills in a 10-month period.
