ATV, off-highway motorcycle, horse, and mountain bike riders are required to purchase a trail permit to ride on WNF trails. The trail permits are now available locally for purchase at the Ironton District Office and 8 participating vendor locations in Lawrence, Jackson and Scioto counties.

There are two main categories of trail permits:

All-purpose trail permit and Horse and Mountain Bike Only trail permit.

The All-purpose trail permit requires proof of valid driver's license at time of purchase and the Horse and Mountain Bike Only trail permit does not.

Riders under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a valid licensed motor vehicle operator who is at least 18 years of age or older when riding trails.

Permits may also be purchased by mail by downloading and completing an online application from the WNF web site at www.fs.fed.us/r9/wayne and mailing it in with your check to: USDA Forest Service, 27750 State Route 7, Marietta, OH
