CANNONSBURG, Ky. - Megan Auxier pitched like she was selling real estate. It was all about location, location, location.

Auxier used excellent control to pitch a five-hitter as the Fairland Lady Dragons edged the Boyd County Lady Lions 3-2 Thursday.

Auxier struck out six and did not walk a batter in going the distance.

"This is the best game Megan pitched all year. She had command of all her pitches. She was able to locate the ball where she wanted," Fairland coach Leroy Baise said.

Fairland (10-4) got all its runs in the first inning.

Marie Stewart walked, Mandy Clark was safe when her bunt attempt was thrown away and Auxier doubled in a run.

Ashley Graham then walked, Taylor Dillard hit into a force play at home that left the bases loaded, Jennifer Legg walked to drive in a run and Danielle Jordan was hit by a pitch to force home another run.

Auxier and Graham had the only Fairland hits.

The Lady Dragons play at South Point Monday in a key Ohio Valley Conference game.
