POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. - The Fairland Dragons did a lot in a short amount of time.

Pitcher Chris Barnett and the Dragons need just an hour and 35 minutes to beat Point Pleasant 4-1 Monday.

Barnett allowed just two hits, struck out nine and walked four to get the win as Fairland improved to 11-1 on the season.

Barnett also singled home a run as he went 1-for-2.

"Barnett did a nice job. He had a big evening," Fairland coach Roger Snyder said. "We didn't sting the ball like we have, but (Big Blacks' pitcher Ned) Park might have had something to do with that, and they made plays."

Fairland took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Adam Fuller singled, stole second and came home on a hit by Barnett.

The Dragons made it 3-0 in the fourth inning.

Cory McKnight and Barnett walked and Trenton Moore had an RBI single. Courtesy runner Michael Spence went to third base on the hit and scored on a sacrifice fly by Nolan Love.

In the sixth inning, Fairland added an insurance run to make it 4-0.

Fuller reached second base on an error. Barnett had an infield hit to put runners on the corners and Moore put down a suicide squeeze bunt.

Point Pleasant used three walks and a throwing error to score its run in the seventh inning.
