JACKSON -

This one was so ugly that not even Marty Feldman would have asked them for a date.

The Ironton Fighting Tigers had just three hits and committed seven errors in a 10-0 loss to the Jackson Ironmen Friday.

"We just didn't play well," Ironton coach Mark Lewis said. "We didn't hit the ball and when you don't hit you aren't going to score. We've got a long way to go."

Jackson (5-2) used two errors and hits by Ben Jordan and Brenton Wayland produced a 2-0 lead.

A single by Tyrus Coyan and an error helped Jackson score a run in the third inning

The lead went to 6-0 in the fourth inning when Wayland doubled, Wes Skaggs singled, Bruce Smith hit a sacrifice fly, Patrick Carl reached on a fielder's choice, Grant Arthur singled, and Jared Humphrey tripled.

An error, two walks, a hit batsman and two wild pitches gave Jackson two more runs in the fifth inning.

Two errors, a hit batsman, a wild pitch, and a single by Smith with the bases loaded made it 10-0 and ended the game with two outs in the sixth inning.

Troy Allen, Greg Linn and Chris Rakes had the three hits for Ironton (2-4).
