"We played well all day. It's nice to win a tournament like that. It makes the trip a whole lot easier," Redmen coach Barry Litteral said.

Josh Moore won the first game as he tossed a five-hitter and registered 11 strikeouts while walking four. Michael Williams and Josh Guy combined to beat Hillsboro in the second game.

"Michael threw well for first time he's thrown," Litteral said. "Josh Guy did a good job coming in and never pitching in a varsity game. He was thrown in a tough situation."

In the first game, Rock Hill jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning.

T.J. Blagg singled, Matt Wilson and Moore walked, and Nathan Wagner had a two-run single. Williams and Mark Anderson walked to force in a run and Nick Howard was safe on an error as the fourth run scored.

The lead went to 5-0 in the fourth inning when Blagg walked, stole second and third, and came home as K.C. Christian reached on an error.

The Redmen got what proved to be the winning runs when they scored three in the fifth inning.

With two outs, Anderson singled and then Howard, Blagg, Christian and Justin Lavender all walked to force in two runs. Wilson singled for the third run.

Whiteoak rallied for five runs in the sixth inning before Moore stopped the uprising.

Barr was safe on an error, Barnett singled, Norris walked and Wharff singled home two runs. After another walk, Shaffer doubled to clear the bases.

"Josh pitched out of a jam in the fifth. He should have been out of the inning with no runs scored. He pitched a pretty good ball game," Litteral said.

In the championship game, Hillsboro took a 1-0 lead in the first inning but Rock Hill tied the game in the second inning when Moore, Wagner and Anderson all singled.

Rock Hill took a 2-1 lead in the third inning when Christian doubled and Wilson singled.

Hillsboro regained the lead with four runs in the fifth inning to go up 5-2, but the Redmen went on top with four runs in the sixth inning.

Wagner led off with a base hit and Williams and Anderson followed with hits for a run. Howard was hit by a pitch to load the bases and Christian walked to force in a run. Lavender then doubled home two runs.

Rock Hill tacked on three insurance runs in the seventh inning.

Williams singled with two outs, Anderson got a base hit and Howard had a two-run triple. Blagg then singled home Howard.

Rock Hill, 7-3, hosts Coal Grove Monday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
